Mats and the Golden Stick

A tragedy for the ages coming to the Royal Alexandra Theatre....

A downtrodden warrior no longer able to live up to his past glories is given new life when he receives a magical stick from a fellow countrymen. Alas, the men he fights with and their leadership is such that even the stick blessed by the greatest of warriors will not take them to victory.

  4. Although I don't think the Leafs will make the playoffs(predicted last November )I hope they get in for another battle of Ontario. The excitement and energy that is created between the two rivals is unmatched.Friends, neighbours, and family torn apart, blood in the streets, car flag duels in the intersections, leaf jersys used as crying towels and snot rags!...gonna miss it for sure..maybe next year...

  5. Leaf Jerseys as crying towels in the playoffs... Surely not against the Sens!

  8. Agreed. And may I comment that the best place I've ever watched a playoff edition of the Battle from is Kingston? It's practically neutral ground, and on game day, the side-by-side Ottawa and Toronto Suns have the same headline (usually CRUNCH TIME or something)... it's not quite the same in Toronto, where admitted Sens fans make up about .5% of the population.

  9. Where as here in Ottawa they have to "ban" Leafs Jerseys in the arena just to try to get more Sens fans to come to playoff games.

Gotta love that 50/50 chant at Sens home games against the Leafs.

Actually, I don't think Sens fans would ever start a "Go Sens Go" on their own.
It's usually the Leafs fans or the Jumbo-tron that has to get them started.

  10. By the way...

Did anybody watch the OTT/TB game on Tuesday?

It's playoff crunch time, your team is playing the defending Stanley cup champions, your team comes back from 3-1 to win the game with 5 seconds left and in typical Sens fan fashion, half the arena bolts to their cars.

You should be trying to pump your team up before the playoffs... give them a standing ovetion when they come back from a 3-1 deficit and score the game winner with 5 seconds to go.
With their given playoff track record they're going to need all the support they can get.

  11. Agreed five-0 > I just sit and laugh at the fans that go to the game. with 5 minutes left about 1/4 of the crowd leaves, 2-3 minutes left more people leave. With a minute or less over half the crowd is gone. I swear they go to see who can get out of the rink the fastest, they don't care about the game. Stay and support the team, granted most of the people here probably do that but you can't say it doesn't happen.

Sens fans on the most part are there for a social time and not to watch the Hockey game.

  12. Actually the fans are in a rush to get their free pizza before it's all gone.
The banning of Leaf jersys was put forth by a city councelor.I think it had to do with an "odour bylaw".
