Czech goaltender Dominik Hasek made it safely to Turin, Italy, but his equipment didn't fare as well.Scott Allegrino - just a small contributor to Team Canada.
"Oh, I had some problems," the Ottawa Senators goaltender said Monday. "I don't know where it is. It's travelling somewhere in Washington, I believe."
Ottawa's Bruce 'The Rumour' Garrioch did what he could as well:
There was just one problem: The cabbie didn't know where it was. Instead, Chara walked into the breakfast room at the Media Village Mortara and started looking for directions.
"This cabbie is completely lost. He has no idea where he's going," said a frustrated Chara.
....
I conveniently didn't tell him he had at least another 30 minutes in the cab waiting for him.
If Chara's not on the ice for Slovakia today, we'll know there's big trouble.
Nice job Brucie!
Looks like Hasek had trouble on the ice. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteIf it's a groin tear Muckler better be on the phone to Minnesota to try to get Roloson or even Phoenix to try to get CuJo. I am not sure either are good enough to lead a team to the Stanley Cup though.
ReplyDeleteFinally...something to take us away from the gambling scandal. A Czech goaltender's hamstring injury is a bizarre form of relief, but I'll take it where I can get it.
ReplyDeleteIt's not a good idea to deal from weakness. There's not much Ottawa can do at this point if Hasek can't play except pray that Emery and Glass can fill the void. If they were already in talks for a goalie, they just lost some negotiating power.
ReplyDeleteBut let's hope this injury just keeps Hasek out of the Olympics and he'll be fine in a couple of weeks.
On the up side, things are looking good for Canada -- the Czechs were downed 3-2 by the Swiss (is Vokoun up to the challenge?) and the U.S. tied Latvia.
